I’m setting up a water change station, I need help finding the right pump.

It will be in my basement. I need it to pump up roughly 16 feet to my tank. I don’t care about noise. I’d prefer something cheap. I can’t use the submersible style.

Thanks guys,
Andrew

Hey Andrew,

You first need to calculate the ‘head loss’ for the assembly, which will provide you with the total ‘head height’ required. Pentair Head Loss Calculator

From there you can use the total ‘head height’ for reference against the manufacturer’s flow chart.

Some external pump brands to look at would be BlueLine, PanWorld, Iwaki, and ReeFlo. Look for models that are designed for high pressure.
