PVC drain size to Mag 9.5

Just curious as to what size pvc should I use for my overflow drain for a mag 9.5 return? From what I researched the mag is pushing max 950gph? What's the flow rates on different sizes of PVC for the drain?

you will never see 950GPH from that pump unless you aim it sideways and don't hook it up to anything. That being said, a 1 inch drain is more than enough for that pump. Most RR tanks have a 1 inch drain and a lot of people use that pump.

If you are then 1", like previously stated, is more than enough. I have a mag 9.5 on my system and I actually have it running through 3/4" from the pump to the bottom of the overflow kit

You'll get more flow out of it if you run a larger return pipe. And yes, typically a 1" drain should keep up with a mag9 unless there is virtually no head loss. (usually a duroso/stockman/other vented drain can handle @600 gph - OR - if it's a herbie, or Bean siphon drain then 1" is usually good for around 1500gph).

You should be able to look up the flow chart for the mag9, and go from there. Keep in mind that Danner creates their flow charts assuming a larger return (1.5" on the larger pumps, I'm not sure what they use for the mag9, but I'll bet it's still bigger than the fittings on the pump)
