Ques. (Question of the Day) Do you Quarantine your fish? why or why not

I always do TTM and observation. I do this because I have dealt with ick infections in the past.

This is not considered best practice as TTM doesn’t address flukes. TTM also doesn’t necessarily treat much other than ick so I’m counting on any other problems showing themselves during observation. Not a perfect system, but it’s worked for me so far.

Intake set up is; 2x 10 gallon tanks, air pump, air line and stone for each, heater for each, ammonia alert badge for each, RUBBERMAID SQUARE COLANDER (for super gentle scoop and transfer) and a cheap light.

Going right to preventative copper treatment seems to be the safest recommendation, but I still hesitate to go right to copper.

And then there are concerns about internal parasites, but I have not been down that road (so far)

I always quarantine new fish. My fish are old, and I can't take the risk of infecting them. My qt tank is a 30 gallon JBJ.
