Questions concerning Tyree pink lemonade acro lineage...

Ok, now i know what i learned not too long ago from a couple peeps here on BRS concerning this coral, and that i was told that there was in fact 2 pink lemonade he introduced as the same coral, but were actually different... HOWEVER, i have been in a deep discussion with numerous peeps on RC, amongst some of the heavy hitten SPS keepers there, and they ALL tell me, that there was definately not two Tyree pink lemonades... i am not calling either side wrong, but as a keeper of a Tyree Pink Lemonade acro, i need to sort out fact from fiction... if need be, i will try to get in touch with the man himself, but as the opinion here differs from opinion there, i would like some proof that this is in fact the case...

I am not looking to start a heated debate, nor does this have anything to do with any sale or anything like that... i jus want to know some further details, so i can sort this mess out...

I think a lot of it is just confusion and misinformation concerning similar types of coral. This is always a heated discussion on these boards because there are two pink lemonades (that I know of) which are floating around the club. There is a "BRS Pink Lemonade" and a "Tyree" one both of which are different looking but often mistaken for the other. It's sometimes because of price but I like to think of it as misinformed.

I'm not sure if the BRS version is related at all to the second type he introduced, but I'm curious to see if any of the hardcore SPS keepers on here know if it is. I feel like the history of this particualr coral could be made into a course at some university: "Pink Lemonade Lineage 101"

...this is a fun club topic may want to check some past threads on this issue.

Short story: there is only 1 Tyree Pink Lemenade. But in the BRS there is another one that many members here refer to as the BRS Pink Lemonade (a nice similiar coral but a true tryee pink lemonade). Very few BRS members here actually have the true tyree pink lemonade.

Talk with Kevinpratt823 or nicks387 they both have true Tyree piece and can probably help show the differences.

I'm not looking for a heated debate, nor did i ask this question and post this thread knowing there has been "heated discussions" in the past... im not looking to cuase trouble, im looking for some proof that there was in fact two different Tyree's, and i am doing what i can to learn more... this has nothing to do with a BRS pink lemonade... I have a Tyree pink lemonade, and becuase of this, I desire to learn more about why people are saying there are two... i see no reason why this would become, or would have ever have been a heated discussion...

what i am looking for is a couple pics, and things like that, as well as some good info... so i can go to others, here and there, and learn more, and perhaps even present the images to tyree himself, so i can in fact get the facts, and put this to an end, not for everyone else, but for myself, and my own peice of mind...

though mine is small, it looks exactly like the one seen in this image... what i am curious about, is not that mine is authentic or not, but im more interested in what his supposed "other tyree pink lemonade" looks like... again, i am told my numerous sources, he only had this one... and no others...

its late as hell and i need to get to bed lol, but i sent out numerous PM's to numerous folks on a few sites as well as a few other members here... I'll be sure to post what i come up with, but without naming anyone or what exactly they told me... jus strictly my own conclusion...

There is only one tyree pink lemonade as far as I know. A lot of people here were sold what was suppoedly a tyree pink lemonade that is actually just a molli with similar colors. Growth form is completely different. I will see if I can find some comparison photos that were posted.

Sup mike... thanks for the link... i actually read through that completely last nite as well as the link it concludes too, as well as every other thread and post i could find on here... and numerous other sites... i have come to the conclusion so far, that i agree with you, there is only one tyree pink lemonade... im still waiting for a couple more peeps to get back to me as of now however, to help me confirm that what i have is in fact the real deal... im very confidant in where i got it, and the people i traced it back to, but a few more opinions never hurt

well i have not been here a while, so i wasnt aware of the drama this has caused in the past... this has nothing to do with selling, trading or mislabeling sales, which from what i can see, that is where the issue arised previously...

AGAIN, i am not concerned with what anyone else has or what they claim it to be, only with the one peice i have... that is it... at this point, I am 95% sure of what i have... I DID NOT get mine through any member of this club... mine came from an accomplished aquarist out of Long Island who's reef is 17 years old, and he does in fact hold some really wonderful and rare peices, i was very lucky to have met him and he keeps very good records of his purchases and collections... this is one of the only peices i could not get an exact record of, but that certainly does not mean it is not legit...

one thing i have concluded, is that is there is only one Tyree Pink Lemonade... I brought the idea that there are two different ones, which i was told by this board, to many other venues and people outside of this club, and EVERY SINGLE person/source, INSISTS there in ONLY ONE and has only EVER been one... jus an fyi of what i have concluded the last couple days... but this is not to prove anyone wrong in regards to the peice they keep, only to debunk the myth going around BRS that Tyree had labeled two different acros as a pink lemonade, which is not true... its up to everyone else to decide for themselves if the one they keep is the real deal, not for me to tell them one way or the other...
