Anyone using the 8x Triple puck kit? It looks very similar to the AI Sol at half the cost. Obviously, some of the features of the Sol will not be present, but how does this compare otherwise? Looks to use Cree LEDs (RB, B, CW) and that is basically the same setup as the AI Sol Super Blue.

looks good but i don't like that the optics have to be glued down. not really familiar with 3-ups or triple pucks so maybe it's the same for all of them, just make sure 60 deg lenses will work for your application.

other than that minor detail, looks like a quality fixture

Thanks. I haven't ordered them. I was curious if anyone knew how they compared to Sols. I would need 3 pendants. My tank is 24 inch deep. Would 60 degree optics be good?

yeah i would think 60s would be fine on a 24" deep tank. if you're gonna be hanging them then you're prolly ok, as you can always adjust the height of the lights above the tank. definitely check with someone more experienced tho. i don't have a lot of direct experience with them, just read a ton in preparation for getting mine.
