Reef maintenance

So what does everyone use to track reef maintenance?

I have been reworking my maintenance procedures on the tank and I was having a hard time remembering when I last changed my carbon or when I last cleaned the skimmer.

How does everyone track this? willy nilly, paper and pen, something else?

I just setup outlook calendars events with reoccurring dates, I hope it works :)

I have a pad and a pencil on my table that the fug sits on(lots of water stains).
I mark my alk,Ca,SG,Mg,trates and what I dosed that week per day.
I check all but Mg every Sat.

Willy nilly, or whenever my spidey sense tells me something is wrong.

Same here... Although I think I'll do a better job when I start running carbon and GFO...

I used an excel spread sheet and then printed it out to fill it in with a pen when I first started.

Now that I have a handle on things I just try to remember or watch for when things need it. I do try to log the last time I changed my carbon and GFO so I do not forget, but most times I also forget to write it down

hmm....maybe i'm weird..but i know how much alk/calc/mg my tank ingests...i try to do weekly 10% water change...so i dose the same amounts every day (future it will be dosing pumps) and i do the water change and i mean...thats basically it...i don't need to write down that my calc is 400 every day, or alk is 8.5 every day...because i know it is. test on monday write it down...go a week, test next monday...thats how much your tank ingests. Divide that by 7...then dose accordingly every day. Or am i wrong?

"Or am i wrong?"

I think whatever works for you is good.
I basically jot the date down,my numbers and what I'm dosing daily.
If I notice that next Saturday the alk or calcium is low then I increase dosage and jot that down.

the brs calander works good four me

other than water changes, my only other maintenance is changing out my carbon and phosphate reactors. all i do is write down the change date on masking tape and place it on the reactor.

My kids love Friendllys for icecream, and they give out these little pocket notebooks, which are nice. I started to use the Aqualog, its real easy, but I find it easier just to jot it down in the notebook. A frien of mine recomended writing things down, and I find it handy.
