ReefBreeder Photon sunrise sunset?

I just notice that the ReedBreeder Photon LED fixture has a step-wise dimming process, I always thought it has smooth sunrise and sunset, No?
Or the fixture I have is defected?

nope thats how they work , if you "step" it at very slow incriments you wont notice it

There are only several time point, I think only 6 steps through out the day.

with my photon 32 I have the option of every 30 minutes or every hour to change the % of channel 1 and 2

must be an older model the new ones have 30 min , I think the older ones have every hour maybe ? not sure
