Removing Silicone from Acrylic

Aquadiva

rebuilding the reef
Well, mom has decided the Hex tanks are cute. She wants to set one up as a freshwater tank...nothing too complicated. I found one, but the previous owner siliconed slate pieces to the bottom and two of the sides. The tank is acrylic. Is there anyway to remove these without scratching the tanks to bits???

TIA

Linda

I think you can scrape acrylic with a razor blade if your very careful and keep the blade almost flat against the acrylic. Practice on the bottom, where scratches won't matter, then when you're a pro do the sides.
