RODI membrane changed, do i need to discard water?

I just changed my RODI membrane as well as the DI cartridge.

Now do I need to discard the first 10 gal of water as if I am running the system for the first time? It is only reading 2 TDS on the first 2 gal I ran through.

I always flush the first few gallons just to clear the system

yup, flush 5 gal or so. Remove or bypass the DI during this time or you may waste it.

It isnn't really the initial TDS that is the problem, it is the preservative used on the RO membrane that needs to be rinsed off. Dump the first 5-10 gallons.

Damn.. I have been flushing it with the DI cartridge in place, hope it didnt hurt it too much.

It may not, I don't know how much of the preservative stuff is actually in there. Just check the TDS coming out if your concerned.
