so i was moving my rock around yesterday and i must have stirred up some ******** in my sand bed and this morning b4 work my a few of my frags and a yellow tang where dead:/ lucky i saved most of my corals and clowns and put them in my second thank in the basement. ugh:/

Sorry to here about your loses. I Had the same thing happen to me a couple of months ago I lost like 85% of my livestock.

wonder what causes this ,,,a long time ago my sand bed was almost 7" deep and i disturbed it once to move the tank , it smelled like sulfur but i had no choice but to put the mucky sand back into the tank after the move ,everything was fine for me but i hear all the time about tank crashes caused by this. good luck

Good to have a bottle of amquel around for stuff like this.. if you stir the sand bed on accident, dose this stuff and all will be fine

On the other hand I have heard that stirring the sand bed is good, (in small amounts) as it release organisms that the corals can feed on??????

I stir mine a bit and I dont see any issues, the goni comes out more, then again I have a big system
