salinity

for years I had been using the refractometer.
after watching many youtube video, I finally give in and brought Hanna salinity checker, it was nice and easy but when compare to the refractometer it off a little bit.
after watching more youtube video, I brought the Milwaukee refractometer thinking it should be the most accurate. its off by +2ppt or +0.002, a bit disappointing, can't really tell which one to depend on. seem like a simple thing but not so much.
what do you guy use as reference?

I heard about that too, glass equipment and then you have to do temp conversion, lot of work
They're factory calibrated at 77 degrees, right about what my system runs at.

I am of the mindset that it's not a big deal what the actual salinity is perse but that it is the same
each time you test it. If it's off a few +/- it's not the end of the world as long as it's consistent!
