Salt water mixing

I always have salt water mixing in my basement. I use a heater and a small power head but then I cover it because I don't want any dust/debris to settle/fall in the water. Question - should I cover or not cover my mixing water?

I always leave mine covered with no ill effects... It should lower the pH a little because of lack of air but you can always throw in an airstone to get the pH up before you use it...

Cool. I think I might do a four day pH experiment and see what happens.
