First, a link to Sanjay Joshi's excellent analysis of LED lighting posted over at Advanced Aquarist:

The conclusion seems to be that LEDs typically are more heavy in the blue spectrum, and lighter in the red spectrum. Sanjay wrote that some hobbyists report the LED lights lack a certain warmth.

There are refernces at the bottom to Sanjay's earlier LED articles.

So the questions to you LED users out there...
Do you like the look of your tank under the LEDs?
Do you modify your settings to dial in more red color?
Are you still loving your LEDs?
Were they worth the cost?
How has your SPS coral growth been affected?

Thanks!

For me the initial look of my sol blues was great. After a couple months my acans changed to orange and the lights were sold. They are missing parts of the spectrum that seems to be important to some coral coloring. I'll use mh 14k phoenix for now.

The LEDs need more time in r&d IMO

Love my sol blues. I would all is positive except i cant comment on sps growth at the moment

i like the look of the tank under led.i modify my radion to the look that i like.sps grows slower from the change over to led but then i also started out at 45% intensity.i'm up to 80% now as of yesterday.in the 2 1/2 months i have it,can say it's worth the money.too soon to tell if it would grow sps like mh.for the last few weeks,my sps colors has brighten up alot since the intensity was turn up to 70%

What size tank do you have?

Thanks I am using a 36 led fixture over my new 45 gal tank 24"x24"x18". It has 18 xp-g cool whites and 18 xp-e royal blue. I ordered 3 cyan and 3 reds that I am going to see how it looks if I replace 6 of the whites with. I am going to see how it dose over my tank which will be mostly SPS with some LPS. I can post how it dose in a few months.

I just purchased an AI Sol Nano because my DIY LED kit wasn't blue enough for me so I have no problem with them being too blue :p
