Signs that tell me its been too long...

... since I've actively pruned my corals. lol

Due to many factors out of my control for a while, I have been less than dilligent in keeping my corals under control. I finally went to check my ph and found a surprise. One of the hundred or so small to 'not so small' pocillopora damicornus colonies that have sprung up in my tank from planua larva settlement, had found a home on my ph probe. The back and sides of my 150 gal are currently 3/4's covered with pocillopora, two types of Xenia, and Encrusting Gorgonian. The other shot is one side of the tank almost completely covered in pink Xenia. It does make a beautiful backdrop but its time to prune.

Full tank makeover and big coral sale to come soon...

If you insist Moe lol. The first is a section of the back glass covered in Xenia Elongata. I do scrape off the ones that have their 'feet' at or above the water line. The next is a Plate coral I bought years ago at about 3" diameter. Now its probably close to 7" and can no longer lie flat in the area I had set for it. (The blob at the left is the base of one of the SMALL pocillopora that have encrusted the glass)

and more...

I have had trouble getting a good full shot of the tank but I hope to before I redo it. Until then I shot a small middle section. And a bad shot of part of an out of control 'field ' of Zoas that cover several large pieces of live rock on the side and rear of my tank. (They came in as hitchikers on a piece of LR years ago) Lastly a I couldn't resist a shot of my large Green Torch colony. The pic doesn't do it justice.
