OK - so back to my original point - I had to move the mushroom due to the new clam and it happens to be touching my clam #2. Clam #2 has been 'pumping' frequently since, so it's either being stung, or just irritated.

Gina, the clam will shift and maybe even jump if it is being stung or unhappy where it is. Leave it for now and let it settle in. JMO....I would prob put a shell or rock under it until it on the sand until it anchors itself...then you could move it anywhere you want
Otherwise you will like me, I have 11 clams now and still want more, maxima that is.

Gina, I'm pretty sure that is a crocea. Maximas mantles are shaped differently, and the shell would have much more defined scutes on it if it was a maxima. It is a beatiful clam no matter what it is though.Did I say that was a Crocea?? No, that's a Maxima about 4" under T5's. He's been happy until the mushroom...
