Skimmer & filter sock

Im sure the answer is somewhere and promise I’ve been looking. My sump is divided. 1st is filter sock… 2nd is refugium….3rd is that thing compartment before the last return.

I keep getting mixed reviews

Can I put skimmer in the same as filter sock???

Yes
You can put the skimmer in any section (where water level is constant), even the section where you have the filter sock. Just don’t use the skimmer in the return section

That’s what I thought a friend of mine is telling me to put it in return NOPE
