skimmer problem

anyone know why my skimmer is going crazy. it fill up the cup quickly with wet foam. been have it for 4 months

Are you saying it's going nuts all the sudden, or it's always been going nuts?

If it's all the sudden, have you done or changed anything in the tank reccently? Some additives and such can make a skimmer go crazy, for example using underwater epxoy often causes a skimmer to go nuts.

if it's going nuts all of a sudden, check and make sure something didn't die....

did you make any changes? add chemi-clean? epoxy a coral to your LR?

And the one thing nobody mentioned yet if this is happening all of a sudden, have you cleaned the pumps in a while? Checked to make sure there are no obstructions in the air line?

the additives are probably the culprits.......

Elevate your skimmer 4 to 5 inches with an once used clean food container, adjust the water level in the circulation chamber by what ever controls the skimmate into the collection cup.
