I recently purchased a Chrysurus Angel from Skipton's in Boston. I asked Steve to try and find me one (which I assumed could take several weeks due to its rarity in the hobby), and to my amazement he was able to get one in the following week. What's even better was the price, well below even online retailers!

When I heard it was coming in I assumed that I would need to pick it up ASAP (as it is an expensive fish and a special order, so a casualty would have been especially bad for them!). However, Steve insisted that he would like to keep it in quarantine at the store to make sure that it was healthy and doing well (and I was more than happy to oblige!).

After getting the angel home and acclimating I fed the other fish in the tank and to my amazement, the angel ate within 5 mins of being introduced!

So, I am extremely happy with the service at Skiptons, Steve is an extremely knowledgeable and nice guy; and not to mention all the other wonderful people that work there (aric, ally, michelle, zev, and others). In the end they made buying a fish that is notorious for being difficult to feed and acclimate easy and a little less stressful! Thanks guys if you're reading this!

I just bought a feather duster from Skiptons tonight. was at the super 88 picking up that octopus for the meeting tomrrow, so I swung on by. i like that place a lot, the people are really helpful and knowledgeable, and their tanks always have so many fish that I want in them, and they all look nice and healthy. If i lived a bit closer, I'd go there a lot more often!

Thanks Skiptons!

Skipton is my go-to pet shop (they sell good, high-end cat and dog food too). Steve runs a tight ship, and the expert knowledge there is truly expert. Just as important, the non-experts err on the side of caution when discussing stocking options. They seem to really work hard to prevent fish and inverts from being placed in inappropriate tanks. (I think this is important, given the precarious state of the world's reefs and the sometimes predatory nature of the fishkeeping industry.)

Skipton is also very good when it comes to special ordering stuff. Before you spend $30 on shipping from Liveaquaria, consider giving them a call.

i was just there today, and as usual they had nice looking corals! they had a really nice clam, probably 3" or so, for $35. i was tempted to buy my first clam but decided to hold off. also had nice sized unmounted zoos for great prices! the LR bins were full of nice looking pieces. it looked like they had some buna LR but i didn't ask about them.
