Slip bulkhead to pvc pipe.... Regular pvc cement?

I say yes. I never heard of anyone using anything else.

Well if you knew how many posts I've read in the last year and a half it would be encouraging. :)

I hear ya... I did a search but didn't feel like trying every possible search and reef central search never works anymore...... Thanks guys........

thats the way its supposed to connect them. did you have another way in mind?

Well no.... But I wasn't sure if you were supposed to use pvc cement or silicone.... Hey look... I work in a millwork shop not a plumber supply.... Take it easy on me.... :)

I'm not trying to give you a hard time, I apologize if it sounded that way. I just was at a loss for ideas regarding alternate ways of attaching pvc. I would never have though of silicone .I suppose it could be used on the drain side (easier to disassemble) but I wouldn't trust it under pressure.

I used pvc cement and my tank is almost fully plumbed... I shorted myself a few fittings this morning at home depot this morning so I'll have to finish tomorrow..... I am a bit concerned though about my tank.... I flipped it on it's side and noticed that the plastic frame is a little bit smashed right near the corner on the underneath..... I'm hoping everything will be fine when I fill this puppy this week.... I never dropped it so it must have been like this when I bought it.... I will keep my fingers crossed......

try this little experiment. Connect 2 fittings together using silicone, leave to cure for 24 hrs. Then try and break the seal:eek: The stuff does not bond well it will break apart. (talking from experiance many years ago:D ) The cement is fine. Nice tank by the way.
