Something has eaten my sand sifting star...

APISTOBORELLI

Bass in pic swam away
What do I do now? Something ate a leg off the star. Help!!!

Anyone have this happen to them? Do they drop legs? Is it doomed? Should I put it in the fuge?

Almost all of that I've seen in stores have all had a leg or some type of damage.I also remember reading that they are extreamly sensitive to....captivity.Put it in the fuge for a few days that way it would be easier to keep an eye on it.

Mark, my grouper ate a leg off mine....even after a move to the DSB in my fuge....it did not make it. Good luck. Who was the culprit?

it should grow back my stars loose legs all the time i actully watched my green brittle get his leg stuck in between two rocks and he ripped it off himself and it grew back i took the leg out becuase i didn't want it to mess up my water quility i have had this green brittl for 1 year allready to and have seen him without a leg at least 4 or 5 times my banded serpant has only lost a leg once and he was ok

I kept them in the past (no longer do) and for some unexplained reason they would lose a leg then another etc., then just start melting away. there were no predators, I just never could find a cause. I now have a tiger tail cucumber and he is the greatest.
