Starting up a new 22 gallon tank

I've had a 40 gal for 5 years or so now but will be "temporarily" downgrading to a 22 gal CADLights setup. I just purchased 40 lb's of live sand and 9 lbs of dry rock. My current tank has flatworms in it so I was kinda planning on starting out new with everything except a few fish & corals. However Im assuming some of the corals I transfer over can have fw on them. I do have flatworm Exit, however I've been delaying using it on my 40 gal cuz I was afraid of causing a nuke.

So my questions are...
1. Can I use tap water to rinse the dry rock? Whats the best way to do this?
2. do you guys think it would be safer to transfer whatever existing corals I want and use fw exit in the new tank?
3. Should I let the new tank cycle/establish before adding any LR or corals from my current tank?

Your best bet would be to use ro/di water if u have your own system. Me personally I would just rinse it with tap. But that is your call I'll bet most here wouldn't recommend it.

I think you should just use a coral dip for transferring your corals.

The new tank might not cycle if u use a good amount of your current LR and cycled water from your current system!! But if you can set it up and let it run a bit that wouldn't hurt.

I would soak the stuff in flatworm exit..................also I have heard fresh water dips might work too, maybe do this for the live rock with the flatworms?...

your best bet might be nuking the tank with the exit first
