Has anyone used the new style stealth heaters yet
one of my old style stealths stuck on and I need to replace it
I was looking online and saw that they are now making them with a low water shutoff and a power on indicator light. Just wondering if they are still as good as the old style

stealth heater

I got one in oct to heat my RODI water used it for the first time the water had a strange smell to it i had to dump 55 gal and clean every thing. I though something got in the water started all over back to about 45 gal put the heater back in to start bringing up temp half hour later loud bang. The heater exploded the smell was back much stronger. May have just been a bad one but i will never use one again thank god it was not in my system.

thats not a good review
I ended up talking to Jeremy at CRA bought a couple of Fluval E series 300 watt heaters. They seem good time will tell

I was thinking of using one of these to heat my RO/DI water. Thank god I didn't get that. I've got ebo jagers in my 10g tanks. Hopefully those last.

Calling Dr. Fosters today.

One doesn't work at all and the other two leak electricity like crazy. Keeps flipping the GFCI, which we all know is not good for the inhabitants.

I use those same heaters and have had no problem
I've used the Visi therm heaters for years, with no issues(old style).
As a matter of fact I have 3

Dr. Fosters gave me the number to Visi-Therm today. Called them and they said Lifetime warranty :-)

However, I did not have the numbers from the actual heaters on me at the time so I will have to call them back on Monday.

I'll post an update. Meanwhile, my tank is running at a cool 74 degrees. :-(

Only one operational stealth heater out of four.
