Strange Anemone

I bought this anenome a few weeks ago. Honestly I didn't think it was going to make it because it kept detachting and float around my tank. One day if attached to this rock. It actually went through a hole in the rock. It doesn't look too good thought. I'm not even sure what type of anemone it is. But my main question is should i move it or leave it be?

i know its not but the pic on the left looks like a duncan lol.

Ya def a lta

i wouldnt move it. if its not happy were it is it will move it self

+1 lta leave it were its happy.

That's what I've heard. I'll leave it be. I feel like it could be stuck but I may be humanizing it. I've seen this thing go from a golf ball size blob to a volleyball in under a minute.

Thank you all for your speedy responses!!

thats what were here for

It's not stuck. It could slip through a straw if it wanted too. They are mostly water. The fact that it found somewhere to tuck up into to get out of the current and light is a good thing.

It looks okay, but LTAs are sand anemones and should really have 4" of sand or more for their foot to bury in. I wouldn't move it, but you could add some sand around the foot if it seems to be staying in that spot.

I dont mean to hijack the post, but just a quick question, will the LTA host clowns? What about a gbta?
Yes and yes, google search clownfish anemone pairing, that'll give u a good idea of what clowns will host what. The chart will say ocerallis won't host btas but me myself and almost everyone here has had luck pairing them, just takes alittle time

I've had the opportunity to see it first hand, it's like a clay marroon color, defintely different, but it looks awesome!

Better late than never but I'm gonna answer the question above......It's red jurassic sand from Utah. Very inexpensive it's actually sold as arts and crafts sand. No upcharge for calling it "reef" sand.
