heres the deal..never had a sump before or anything similar..but I picked up a current fission skimmer in trade.. model 8105 good for up to 225 gal (at least the box says so.) and it must be in a sump. this is going to go on my 29 gal..

sooo If I'm following this correctly.. I need a overflow to get the water to the sump and a pump to get it back up to the tank..correct?

what is the easiest way to do this... I know I should know how to do this but..I don't.

yup, you need an overflow to get down into the sump, then a return pump to pump water back up into the display tank.

Drilling the tank is the easiest and best way to setup an overflow... but unfortunately it's rarely conveinent for people, especially if they've already got water and livestock in the tank.

There are alternatives to drilling, such as HOB style overflows. They don't work as well, but are still capable of getting the job done if you really can't drill the tank.
