Sump Salt Spray and bubble Prevention for NON Filter Sock Users

I am wondering what all of the NON Filter Sock Users do for running drain lines into the skimmer section and prevent massive bubbles and salt spray. I currently just run the braided vinyl drain lines into the sump and I am thinking of changing it up. I have seen the reverse durso but am seriously considering just cutting a piece of Styrofoam to fit nicely on the water surface and possibly notch out holes for my drain lines to go through...Is that OK to do?

im sure that might help with the big bubbles but i cant say for sure. i run 1.5'' hard pvc into my fuge and skimmer sections and i usually just get smaller bubbles with a little bit of salt creep. its when they pop when they spray salt, even little ones.

Bubble tower might help. Thinking of adding one to the sump I'm building. MelevsReef.com is where I got the idea.

have the end of the pipe about half way out of the water .. almost no bubbles....

This is actually a great idea if your sump isn't already up and running. I saw that as well and wanted to, but i ran out of acrylic and just didnt bother.

Thats also a good way to do it, i have my pipes a few inches under the water but i only get small bubbles, not too much salt creep.

I am not concerned with bubbles but salt spray is my main concern. SO just letting the pipes hang just a couple inches below the surface will produce less spray...

I've got my drain pipe almost st the bottom off my intake section.but before it goes into the water there is a t with another pipe facing up.almost no bubbles and silent.

Here this pic shows it
