sump tank leaking

Well, about to go out last night when the wife informed me the sump tank was leaking:eek: This is a 40 gal long diy job that I have to admit made me proud. Anyway, just bummed the seal on the bottom broke. The leak was definitely from the tank but after emergency tank put in place I filled the tank outside and it is holding water overnight...doesn't appear to be leaking:confused: Anyway, before I go and buy another 40 gal sump tank (one in use now is only a 20 gal emergency tank) can I re-silicone the tank or is this futile?

yea sometimes that happens inside the stand where the sump goes is it perfectly level? if not it might be twisted just enough to leak and now the its outside its not twisted??? my brothers 72 was leaking in the house now that its sitting out side its holding water perfectly fine :/

oh yea just silycone the snot out of it you should be fine

Yeah it was level where I had it in place. I will take your advice and silicone the 'snort':D out of it. The tank is only a year old and it cost a few bucks so hate to have to buy another one. Obviously, if it continues leaking then time for a new sump tank. Thanks
