Switching from Magnetic to E-ballast in Nova II- Help!

I am not familiar with magnetic ballasts. I want to switch my Giesemann Nova II pendant to an E-ballast from this stock magnetic one:

I know which wires are positive, negative, ground...that is not the issue. Should I remove this little transformer in the pendant totally and wire direct to the HQI socket wires and ground screw, or do I leave it in there and make the new connection between the E-ballast and the transformer.

I plan to use a 250W Icecap or Lumatec ballast.

Help much appreciated!

And, thanks to a friend on another forum::)

"The small box inside the pendant is the lamp ignitor. You must remove the lamp ignitor inside the pendant. An electronic ballast (IceCap or Lumatek) connects straight to the lamp and must have nothing between the lamp and ballast."

One more question in life answered.....

I have the Lumateks and love them. I bought one and that bulb was so much brighter than the others, I ended up buying a total of 5 more for most of my others.
Anyhow, that thing inside the pendant is an ignitor, you should not need that anymore if you use the Lumatek on HQI setting, or any other HQI Electronic ballast. I'm guessing the pendant and ballast you have came as a package? Otherwise, the ignitor would probably be housed inside the Mag ballast.

Thanks for the reply Kevin. Yeah they came together. I'll probably go with the Lumatec unless I find a good used deal on an icecap.
