Switching Tank Info

Im switching things into another tank and getting rid of the original tank.

I have limited time.

Should i use new water or the old water?

New sand or the old sand?

Old water & new sand. Maybe seed with a cup of the old.

Why the new sand as I am about to do the same soon? My sand is only 3.5 months old...Is that a factor?

I'd say old and old, unless there was a problem with one of them.

I was under the impression that stirring up an older sand bed would most likely cause a spike no?

Correct.
I would say if the substrate is over a year old you could supplement with some new, but you still may have to cycle anyway.
I also use most of your old water, but not all.

Im going to get water and substrate in the tank this weekend with a skimmer and powerhead to get it going, slowly move stuff over during the week once my new hood is done.
