tank big enough

i was thinking about getting a 12g nano set up and putting just one fish in there with some corals. is this tank too small for a blue spot jawfish or a hawkfish. i want both of them and neither can go in my dt now for various reasons. from what i'v read both fish are recommended for a 20g tank, but if its the only fish in there(i'm only going to get one or the other) would it be allright. my dt doesn't have a deep enough sand bed for the bsj and people told me the hawkfish would kill my clowns and pjs.

I have a hawkfish (excellent fish BTW) and he is a big swimmer, very active and all over the tank, I would suggest a bigger tank than a 12g, mine is in a 25g and I think that is even too small.

do you think the hawkfish would go after my clowns and pjs there are two of each so they could be allright correct. i know they can eat hermits and shrimp, but i don't currently have any shrimp and the crabs are cheap enough that he could eat one once in awhile and it wouldn't matter. i just don't want him to rub out my whole cuc.
