Setting up a new 20l. I want to use my LS that's in my 15 colume now as its full of life. Worms and all. The sand is 1 year old and no copper or anything along that nature has been in it. I have read about reuse clean to buy new. Hate just to throw this all away and kill what's in it. Any possibility to just add it with min effects?

Why not use some new and seed it with a few cups from the old tank.
Just an option it how we started tanks with dry sand back in the day.

While there is good bacteria, there's usually tons of deitritus. New dry sand, then seed it. Keep then good bacteria, ditch all the deitritus and god knows what else builds up in the sand. Just my experience!
