Hello All
Hope you all rode out the storm safely.

Well, after a long night of no power ( off at 9:00 pm Fri. ) it came back on a 2:30 pm Sat. Looks like I was lucky, Tank temp dropped to 64. All fish made it ,but I lost a beautiful Plate coral :( I tried to run a heater and circ. pump from a power inverter ... kind of worked.

Anyone have any tips for future power outages? Thanks all Happy reefing

Glad you made it through. It's too bad about the Plate coral.
What size inverter were you using? How many watts was the heater..

Nothing beats a small generator.Easy to store away when not in use,and easy to set up and get running.

Looks like a generator IS the way to go. I was running a 750 watt inverter off of deep cyclee batteries. 200 watt heater and 20 watt cir. pump

if you had an inverter...then what happened? you should have been able to run a heater and pump off that.

Yeah, the heater should have worked fine off the inverter.
Did the batteries die on you?

I'm glad your tank survived. Don't give up on the plate coral. Although it may not come back, sometimes they make little plates just before they finally die. Give it a month or two before you throw it out.
