tips for cleaning starfire glass

This is my first brand new tank with starfire glass front panel. Looking for advise on cleaning and tips to be sure I don't end up scatching the glass do's and don'ts appreciated

I use the flipper and it doesn't scratch the glass at all. I think most scratches come from getting sand between the glass and cleaning tool so if you can avoid doing that you're golden

Does starphire scratch easier?

If Im understanding right its a low iron glass witch makes It clearer . but also softer ?

When I talked to Derek at Miracles he said it is indeed softer, but not that we would notice.

I would just be careful not to pick up the sand in between the tool you're using and the glass. Regardless what kind of glass, it will be scratched.
With that said, I'm loving the Tunze Care Magnet! Doesn't float or flip through corners but it's one hell of a glass scraper without getting sand in between it and the glass.

Definitely agree. Just received my Tunze Care Magnet last week and am amazed at how much better it works than my standard magnetic floating scraper. You can scrape right up to, and even below the sand line without it scratching the glass. Works well enough that I was able to scrape off coralline that my mag floating scraper couldn't touch, all without worrying about dragging sand on the glass.

razorblade and don't get sand in it. I always had better luck with that than any of the magnet cleaners, scrubbers ect that I tried.

Same here, and never had an issue. i think with my new tank I am going to buy the Tunze

I use a original magic eraser on any non-coraline areas, and my old mbta charlie card, and a 2' extension metal tipped scraper that has never scratched any of my tanks.
