tropical marine pro reef Alkalinity?

Guys who use Tropic marin pro reef how do you manage your alkalinity? Do you dose your new saltwater before a water change? Do you just stay with the lower levels? Did you switch salts altogether to one with high alkalinity?Baseline is between 7.0-7.3 dkh.

7 to 7.3 is perfectly fine for all coral in this hobby, as long as Alkalinity is between 7 to 11, coral does not care. That is based on the decades of experience from coral farms, wholesalers etc. The biology behind how corals utilize alkaline is consistent with this.

7-11 is definitely fine. However the more towards the middle you are, then the more room you have both ways for a swing. It is always best to chose a salt with the parameters you want to run. If you happen to like that salt mix and want to maintain your tank at a higher alk than the salt mixes to, I would definitely just dose your water change water up to the level you prefer.

but coral does grow faster with higher alk. Least the BRS/WWC video says so.

I just pre dose the new saltwater before a water change with BRS two part

I keep mine at between 7.5 - 8.5. No issues. good growth. I dose 2 part (actually 3 part) and adjust with some additives when needed if Im getting a little low. I also drip kalk in off hours.

thanks for all the replies, Yeah from most of my research I see most people want to run a alk level around 8.

Tropic marin bio actif and synbiotic have alk levels 8.5 to 9,I use synbiotic

7.5. -8.5 dkh here course I’m not your normal reefer. I won’t even tell you what my nitrates and phosphates are you wouldn’t believe me.
