tuxedo urchins and coraline

hi
so i originally thought that tuxedo urchins eat algea
then i heard that they will eat coraline algea
will he eat so much that i will have a hard time growing coraline on my rock and tank. or should i not worry about the small amount it will eat?
any thoughts

Mine does a pretty good job on both the glass and rock. But there's so much of it that he doesn't get everything.

i wish i had one that would take care of the glass for me....

i've heard that the tuxedo's are really hit or miss, it's the pencil urchins that are really best at removing coralline.

Some people love that they take care of it, others hate it...

personally, i'm looking for any help i can get in taking it off of the glass =).

Mine does not nearly keep up with all the coraline in my tank. I will occasionally see him and he is always bigger, so he is getting enough to eat, but I still have plenty of coraline. You can always tell when he has paid a particular area a visit as he does a tremendous job.

I don't know what mine is but it def cleaned off the back glass pretty good and there is def less on the rockwork that before... I forget which kind I have I'm pretty sure it's a kind of pincushion urchin...

My Tuxedo is after it all the time... on the rocks, plumbing, glass, overflow... He does his best but there's no way he could actually clean it all off. You'll see trails where he's munched his way along but he doesn't clear a coraline-free highway.

I have two tuxedos. They eat coraline off the glass, rocks and overflows, but can't keep up with it.

well i have a smaller 52 gallon tank that i would really like to get the back glass coverd in coraline
at first i thought i need to get rid of the urchin, now i think maybe i will just monitor a little closer.
