UMMM please help!

So we came back from our weekend in boston for Ney Year's and we see that our small Crocea clam has moved from it's normal location. It did not jump! We went to move it back into it's spot and relized that it's foot has attached to a live naserius(Sp?) snail! What do we do??? We don't want to hurt the clam or the snail! TIA

I would let nature take its course. If you try to remove the snail, you may hurt the clam. Not worth the risk IMO.

whatever you do... do not try to detatch the snail from the clam by pulling on it. You could damage the bysall glands, and the clam could die.

That is why were going to leave it, but was not sure if there were any tricks to get him to loosen up! Thanks! Nicole

You can try holding the Snail and the clam under water. Then while holding the snail still slightly rock the clam slowly back and forth it may take a bit but it should release. But make sure it releases on its own.

I'd leave it be. If you put rocks around the clam, the snail will not be able to drag it around.
