Ushio 250w single ended mh 20k or 14k bulbs

anyone has an experience on these bulbs, good, bad or ugly....comment needed. Thanks.
i'm currently using phoenix 14k, not sure if i should make a change.

if i was you i would stick with the phoenix. cheap, gives off good color, and keeps coral happy.

IME the ushio and pheonix 14K blubs are very different. The ushios are much closer to the look of a 10K, whereas the pheonix are very blue to the eye.

What change if any would you be hoping to acheive?

I personally have Phoenix 14k, Far from cheap, but very rich in blue and radiant white, I am very happy with the results... They are $100.00 a piece for the blubs

they were $44 on marine depot last time i checked. EDIT- that was the 150w DE bulb, not the mogul base

Double ended Phoenix is cheaper, single ended bulbs discussed here are expensive. But SE bulb gives much better color than DE.
