Weird Thing From Harbor

I was in Boston today and my wife and i took a walk on the beach near the Bayside Expo Center. It was low tide and some cool stuff was exposed... Does anyone know what these are? They are lighter brown than the picture, and grow on shells, rocks and even live snail shells. They feel rubbery, similar to green star polyps when they are hiding....

I want to put some snails(countless thousands were crawling near the water), macro and some of these in a little Boston harbor pico tank.

The water does look much better than it used too... I only saw a few needles and used condoms washed up on shore. I decided not to put those in.

i cant really see anything, it looks like a bunch of clown eggs to me, can you get a bette rpic?......and the Boston Harbor tank is a great idea
