So what this is....Calcium reactor replacement

I couldn't keep up with the demands of the tank.....Twin chamber reactor....kalk drip & as of last week I had to resort to add two part also!!!.....Well thats gonna change!!!Geo 618 to the rescue!!

Heres the next shot....stripped out cabinet of pumps & old reactor.. notice the paper inside the sump...Thats on top of a towel....It's there to catch all the acrylic dust I will end up with from the new hole I'm about to punch on the side of the sump...

almost there...

here's the dust I spoke of on the towel...keeps it out of the sump & adds in minimal cleaning after the hole is complete..

another shot

So you got to experience how to burn up 5.5 hours on a Sunday & it only took you about 3 mins to experience it yourself!!! My poor knees!!!!

This is why I had this reactor on the shelf for close to 2 years before installing!!!!

Thats where I keep Aquamans treasure chest!! :p

It's actually just a peice of 2X12 scrap to fill in the void.....I used a 2X12 inside the front area of the cabinet floor. (on the flat) to curve the front panel of MDF board.... I built a frame & cut the radius of the tank out of 2X12..put one on the top & one on the bottom...& added the corner uprights to complete the front section...One the frame was built...I layed a sheet of MDF on the cut radius & added bricks on ea end every couple days so the MDF would take the shape of the bow!!! took two weeks to complete the front!!! That was over 5 years ago!!!!

it looks like you have a pump tucked down in there too.

That goes down to Davey Jones Locker!!.:D...

Actually...thats the plumbing for the chiller which is mounted right under the floorboards. (one of those 1140GPH pumps drives the chiller) I made a shelf to hang it under the floorboards....Essentially it is like being on the same floor....(less head loss) & the heat transfer from the chiller stays in the basement...... You saw that when you came by...???
