what to put in the fuge...

i just made a refugium out of an aquaclear 50 (formerly the model 200) and now i would like to know what to put into it. i have some chaeto (thanks bill) in the outlet side of my skimmer box from my remora so i dont really need to put any in the fuge.... or should i? the tank is going to be my seahorse "stable" so id like to have some pods growing in there. i know its not going to produce enough pods to keep horses alive but it would supply just some supplementary food for them. should i do live sand/rock rubble? should i seed the fuge with pods or just let them grow? any suggestions? its a small space maybe 3 inches by 5 inches and about 5 inches deep. not a lot of room. what to do????

How big is the tank this is on? I have a model 70 on my 10g and just have some sand and rock with cheato on the right side with a small section next to the impeller for my heater.... I also have a spiral compact fluorescent clipped above to make the cheato grow. I lowered the flow by using an impeller from a 20 or a 10 - seems to do alright for my corals.
