What to use to glue live rock together?

Hello Everyone,

I want to glue some of my live rock together. I was wondering what do other reefers use to glue them together..
I was thinking of using Gel super glue but I don't think they will be strong enough for long term usage.

Thanks,

Bao

some ppl drill holes in the live rock and zip tight the rocks together.....zip tights will later be covered with coraline...just an idea...gl

if its a new tank and you have some time to let things cure you can use quikrete quikwall. Its a fiberglass reinforced cement mix that is labeled for use for potable water and cures quickly. Get the white stuff not the grey stuff so it matches the rock. You can mix in some oyster shells or crushed coral with it as well to make it a little more rock like. Its also great for covering things like overflows. Just make sure you float the surface a little so the fiberglass fibers settle into the cement and dont stick out.

Aqua mend or jb water weld both can be bought at HD and are tank safe.

I've used both and they are about the same.

Don't rely on just the putty to hold things together.Lock the rocks together in some way.Another option from the good ones already mentioned is to either drill holes(pretty easy to do)or if the rock is porous with lots of holes use the acrylic rods that come with shades, they are cheap, crystal clear and will add a great deal of security and strength to your structure.

I disagree, If you have dry rock and use the putty, the bond is insanely strong. I made a rock wall recently and used JB waterweld. The bond is insanely strong from that stuff. When I started off, I initially planned on using acrylic rods, and zip ties but you can't really disguise that stuff well. But after experimenting with the JB, I changed plans. I used the 1/2" masonry bit that I bought to drill 3/4" deep holes in the wall after it was constructed. frag plugs fit in pretty well.
