Where to Buy Diamond Luminarc?

Didn't someone in BRS buy one with the intent of duplicating it only smaller? I remember that rumor circulating but can't recall who it was. It's a pretty simple, but unique, design. Anyone with even an ounce of metal working skill should be able to make them.

Don T bought one off me in the spring, I believe that was his intent.

and yes I do have some here that are proto types I'm working on with a supplier. I will be using them over our 340g show tank, and once the modifications are to my liking I will be offering them for sale.

A smaller one would be awesome... those things are great but huge (19" by 19" footprint).

Yeah I'd definitely go for smaller ones.

heheh yeah that was a stupid comment, Im trying to get a 365g tank set up and Im talking about smaller reflectors.

I am looking to go either dual bulb SE or HQI. if you have that in the works, count me in.
the bigger the better. i am looking for a 24x24 if they make it.

marc always has the good stuff in the works.

Any idea on a timeline?

Lumenarc's design is really focused on single bulb configurations. It relies on the light being emitted from a single, central point which then bounces off the various panels to be reflected downward. I think you'd need a different design with dual bulb or HQI.

I have 3 lumenarc's over my tank. They are quite beastly, I forget the exact dimensions; however, I think it is in the 21-24" range (square) PLUS the mounting bracket, which is important to have because you need to center your bulb so that the light is at just the right spot.

I'm pretty sure I bought them from that pacific garden supply place. I know I bought them from a garden supply store and it was in CA and the guys were willing to negotiate. I forget how much I paid but I think it was in the $55/reflector range. Make sure you get the reflector, the mounting bracket, and I'd recommend the socket as well (it has special grooves to slide into the mounting bracket for proper positioning).

Marc, did you ever get to making any?

I was talking to Mauro at the meeting about Luminarcs, and had recently been reading about a HUGE pot growing operation that had been busted in TN.
Pot growers love the Luminarcs.
When they get busted, the reflectors are supposedly auctioned or sold to the general public.
Mauro mentioned www.stealitback.com
I've never used that site, so I have no idea if they're reputable.
