He was in the corner about midway up about 3 hours ago now he's hanging upside down from my pump on my HOB skimmer..don't worry skimmer is not on...His tenticles are about 2" from the surface..

What the hell is he doing? This thing has never moved and hasn't moved since I did the tank change day before thanksgiving

They can climb anything! Im lucky mine hasnt moved in a year, crap I hope by saying that im not jinxing myself!

He may have just decided he is no longer happy where he is(time for new bulbs?, moved a powerhead?) or he just feels like going for a stroll. Careful of powerheads as they walk into them quite easily, never good. He may just be looking more light, flow or bored keep an eye on him as he can sting other corals pretty good if he walks on them. They have a mind of their own! Good Luck!

This is normal.

BTA/RBTAs will stay in one spot for months or even yrs, then one day they just decide to go for walk. Pretty complex behavior for something with no brain, but that's what they do.

That's also why it's never safe to keep one in a tank with a powerhead that doesn't have it's intake anemone proofed. (good thing yours was not running :) )

Thanks so much for all the replies..unfortunatley I do not have my poweheads nem proof..anyone want to clue my into making that happen? Screen? He is still around my pump but now on the side of it not hanging upside down..I think he's still gto move further..My Koralia is just about 5" away soooo...

Opps never mind..came off the pume and now in the corner again..right at the surface..whats up with this guy??? lol

For the power heads I use the plastic mesh for needle point and zip tie it around the PH. I clean it off every 3-4 weeks.
