A Picture a Day

For today's picture I am not taking a new photograph of the clowns. At this point there is a lot more variation between fish than one day's worth of growth.
Instead I am taking yesterday's photo and comparing it with a photo of a full sized(some might call it jumbo sized) Amphipod. So here it is the biggest Amphipod in the tank next to yesterday's clownfish. Hopefully this will give you a better sense of the scale.

Honestly I haven't tried it too much but these photos are definitely inspiring. Cool stuff. Really great visuals on the development of these fish

I'm sure I posted this last night. But the post is now gone. Why was my post deleted? The website is shrinking the pictures. The day 13 fish is actually quite a big longer than the day 11 fish, but the BRS website is re-sizing the pictures so you can't tell.
The day 11 fish is 10.3mm long and the day 13 fish is 12.5mm long.

Hmmmm...That's wierd. That's something to look into. Great pictures by the way!
The fish are not smashed between the two pieces of glass. The two pieces of glass are held apart by silicon glue.
That said, for the first several days the larvae are very delicate and I suspect most of the earlier photography subjects died. Now that they are bigger, I can say for sure that they survive because there have not been any dead bodies on the bottom of the tank since I moved them from the larvae tub into a regular aquarium.

Great - thanks for clairfying. I was pretty sure they weren't getting smashed, but I wasn't sure just how delicate these young fish were. I have learned a lot from this thread .. . as I am unlikely to raise these little guys myself. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and pictures.
Bad news. Sometime last night the GFI was triggered. This morning when went to feed the fish, I discovered the power off and nearly all of them dead. :-( Does not take long for 50+ fish in 1 quart of water to suffocate.... There are a few still hanging on but they don't look good. I suspect I will end up loosing them all.
So this thread will have to be put on hold for a week to allow their younger siblings to catch up. Don't worry this thread is not over.
For a bit of a preview, the red/orange pigment that gives clownfish their charactaristic color is not produced by the clownfish, the red pigment is extracted from their diet. I will coat their food in dried Haematococcus phytoplankton and the fish will begin to transform from the muddy yellow/orange to a nice bright red/orange.
