MikeG's 2 gallon contest tank

Added a temp controller to see if I can get the temp regulated.

Also built a small acrylic stand for my LED lights today. I am running 7 CREE LEDs (4 blue and 3 white)

I will mount the original light right in between the two heatsinks for the LEDs, It fits perfectly.

Well I am going to bow out. Knocked my light over and ripped the wires out. The LED's were plug and play. Ended up trying to fix it and ripped all the wires out and soldered the LEDs instead. Went to plug it in after double checking everything and nothing. Went to test the LEDs with the tester they came with and none of them are working now so looks like they all got fried, either when the light fell and re wires ripped out or when I was soldering them together. Not going to replace the light so that's it for me.

I should have some extra Cree xp-g cool whites as soon as I swap them for the cyan and reds I just got. If you want them they are yours. Let me know.

Ripped out the plug and play crap wiring that the LED kit had and bought a soldering iron. Wired some new LEDs and got everything back up and running. Ended up doing 4 white and 4 blue, it is pretty bright!

Test corals are in to see how things do before putting some more sensitive stuff in and mounting everything in there permanent spot.

Why let someone else do what you can do better right? The plug and play set up just didn't really work for what I had going, the wires were too short.

Corals looked good and healthy after 36 hours so I put a bunch of frags in last night, I will post another pic when I get a chance. Probably have about 10 different sps in there.

Hopefully your confidence in my skills to actually get this to grow out will help! I'M giving it a 50:50 chance of survivng for a year, absolutely no room for error with 2 gallons of water.

Why don't you put in a 100gal sump, that way your chances will increase 1000X

You gotta read the rules of the contest Richard, 10G sump max! I am tyring to make this challanging, keeping some of the most demanding corals with the smallest water volume I can after all what fun is it if it is easy? That is what my other tanks are for

OK I just read the rules, it doesn't say how many 10gal sumps you can add to the tank
