It maybe your skimmer is just pulling something out of your tank your previous skimmer wasn't or it had something from manufacturing that is causing it to go nuts.
I didn't have a skimmer before. The tank is about 1.5 months old. I got it used but in excellent condition. But here is the good news. After a week of frustration it's finally working like it should!
I have almost no microbubbles coming out of the output and it's not overflowing the Collection cup anymore. It's a relieve on my end... I'll tell u!!
I wasn't sure what to do, but I googled alot (o; and tryed everything I could think of.
To summarize what I did;
I had to change the chamber the Skimmer and return pump are in (even though I think it would work in the same chamber once the Skimmer was dialed in and there were no more microbubbles coming out of the output. But I just had no patience and was trying everything!)
Raised the skimmer to 5" of water (I obviously couldn't have 5" of water in my sum/refugium) with egg crate. And it worked!
I went nuts trying to follow the instructions for the recommended water depth, but it's obviously different for every set up.
I am sure I will have to keep watching it now and dialing it in for a little while until it's solid but at least I have a start point where to try to make it perfect now.
I will post some pictures of how it's now and if anything changes I will make sure to post it....
Thanks everybody that gave me ideas and helped along this LONG week!!! (o;
