Rad's 75 gallon mixed reef......

Red Planet, I put it low and now you can see the base starting to green up.

Pink birdsnest is getting out of control, my first SPS that started as a small frag only 2 years ago. Got it for free from BigDrewsky. I can basically see it growing throughout the day.

Awesome tank man looks awesome! How do you keep the glass so clean from coraline?

When I set up the rock work I left it 3" or so from the back wall, I can access mostly all the glass with a razor blade. I scrape it all off during water changes but it does grow back fast. I like the look so I keep it up even though it's a PIA.

I haven't updated this thread all summer and the tank just came up on it's one year anniversary, Woooooo! I got married June 9th and went on a 2 week long honeymoon and had a relative stay at the house to take care of the tank and my dogs. While I was away I lost a lyretail anthias and my red planet frag. I also trapped and returned my fairy wrasse since it turned into a terror, harassing my mystery wrasse, clowns, and eating my gorgonians. Only new addition is an Aussie Elegance coral with pink tips. I started a 46 gallon tank in my basement which absorbed most of my attention for a while. I also dealt with some color loss from low Alk and getting lax on testing parameters, I'm dosing 150cc of 2 part each morning to maintain Alk of 8. I think the pink birds nest is getting too large and draining my additives. May explore Kalkwasser in the auto top off.

Tank looks great Dan, love the birdsnest, let it grow haha its gonna take up your entire tank soon!
Never heard of problems with wrasse's eating corals before, interesting!

s. Kelley,
Thanks! If you are ever Around the seekonk area I can break off a piece of the birds nest for you... That fairy wrasse was by far the meanest fish in the tank, all my smaller fish finally come out now instead of hiding for cover. It followed the mystery wrasse all over the tank and took bites out of its fins. The coral eating sealed the deal for his removal. It picked polyps off plenty of corals, it even ate nori. I really don't agree with taking fish back to the LFS and it was pretty hard to do but it was necessary.

tank looks awesome! birdsnest is HUGE! def tough returning a fish! i think my mystery is eating my snails and hermits....if so i might have to remove it also!

Thanks dude! My mystery wrasse ate all my ornamental shrimp and a few hermits but doesn't touch snails. I have an anemone crab that is in one of the pictures that he doesn't touch at all. I did have a snail eating snail in there though... It came in with an order of nassarus snails. I think John posted about them in the past. I lost a ton of tiger trochus till I caught it in the act last week and got it out of there.

Got a new lobophyllia yesterday. It's red with mint green mouths and trim.
