Nuclear Green Paly questions

So I picked up some from DZ. I have to say I am VERY impressed with how they are doing. I have no idea what I am doing with lighting and if they look good or not. The reason I think they are doing great is due to reproduction, I have had them 2 weeks now and I have seen 3-4 new baby heads start.

So the real question.....Do I need to move them up more in light? I noticed them starting to stretch up towards the light. It could be for new ones to form or that they want more light. Any suggestions. I have 24inch deep tank light about 4 inches off water. 250W MH 14 phoenix bulb. 44G corner Pent.

Note the pics are 3 days old, Since then they have extended like 1-2 inches out or around.

Those look like common green palys. I'd keep them seperated from your rock work as they will grow really fast and can become an invasive species in a reef tank. They are pretty poisonous too so be careful handling them. I know of a few people who have crashed their tanks trying to remove them, and one who ended up in the doctors office after breathing in steam while trying to scrub them off some rock (me). Be careful....

I own the same strand from DZ also... Mine aren't spreading too fast and are under LED light (84 watts). I also own what was called bright green play, purchased at the club auction. They are both in the back of this pick.
What is up with them being that harmful? And how can we tell which play/ zoas are that poisonous from safe ones?...

Just be safe and assume that they all are.

Yea mine are growing crazy fast (I think) I love the look of them I also have them in a spot where they catch 1-3 pieces of shrimp a day when I feed. I might want to scale that back lol. Being my first Coral I have to love them. Thanks

In terms of poison the first day I put them in the tank I got a really bad feeling/off (physically), I wonder if it had to do with the Palys. I remember reading a post a long time ago about the steam and going to the hospital haha I tell that story all the time not sure where I read it but I think on a different forum.
