Can`t Keep any Shrimp

Hey fellow reefers,

Just wanting to hear some input on what you guys think are eating my shrimp.

Lost:

5 peppermint
1 cleaner
1 CBS

Over the past year of having my tank I have added all the above and all have disappeared. The cleaner shrimp and peppermint shrimp I have had for a while and then disappeared like a month ago. The CBS I bought like a month ago and was gone the next day.

I Have:

melanus wrasse
green choris wrasse
YT
pair of clowns
goby/pistol pair
green manderin
HUGE Brittle star

Any Ideas?

I had the same issue about five months back... I bought three shrimp. "Three shrimp went in the water and none came out chiefy"

I have two clowns and one other damsel.

I guess it could be anything if it is hungry enough.

They may still be in there.shrimp are very good at hiding.I thought I lost 2 peppermint and then the appeared 3 months later

My money is on the melanarus or the brittle star.

No way the brittle star ate them. I have had brittle stars and all sort of shrimps together for years and never had an issue.

I have 2 brittle stars and 3 peppermint in a 40 breeder right now.

it was one of the wrasse.

Thinking it was the wrasse.

Now that I think about it first shrimp disappeared shorty after adding the melanus. knew it was a risk when adding it forgot I was thinking it was my pistol shrimp as cleaner shrimp are the natural enemy/ prey

Thanks guys

If your 'CBS' is a Coral banded Shrimp then my bet is that is the culprit.

I read the post wrong..sorry.

Can you double check the identity of the "green choris wrasse"?

Some of them are not shrimp-safe.
