My hungry hungry hippos:
They always seem hungry so I may consider starting to target feed something, IDK yet.
No visible new growth or changes in size/puffiness. You can see the two large heads in the photo and if you look closely at the bottom left you can see the small baby head.
The baby head doesn't have it's tentacles out right now, though it usually does.

This is my second time keeping Acans. First time, it just dwindled and died after a few months for some reason 
. This time it looks a lot better than last time I think...
Well, here it is. Just took these a couple of minutes ago after feeding the whole tank (not a spot feeding)-
I think I have 2 whole mouths and 2 half ones as of now.

Mine is not doing so good. I have never had luck with Acans. I am trying a new location to see if that helps. I am thinking maybe to much light so I am shading it for now to see if that is what it is.

Chris you may be right about the light, the few I have are doing 100% better since i moved them into a lower light system
I am out of town until Thursday. I am not sure what I will come home to. I keep asking about my tanks, but no one is talking. Hopefully, I will still have something to take a picture of when I return.

Am I the only one who's acan is turning a darker red with dark green streaks and patches? I see others red with pink patches, and some with green tentacles, but the skirt on mine is legit turning green.
The picture doesn't really have the right colors as it looks brown, but in person it's like a brick red right now with forest green streaks lighting starting to show through here and there.
Actually, it looks like it may be planning on turning a shade of orange which wouldn't surprise me as my last red/teal acan in this pico turned orange, but my dark red acan stayed dark red in here. Go figure.
EDIT: Oh, and the tentacles on mine are no longer green but now a shade of clear/blue/purple. So strange.
And I just looked again, it is indeed turning orange with green streaks.

You have Razor LEDs right? I always heard "Red Acans" turn orange under LEDs... I have AI Sols w/ 4 T5s, mine still Red with green tentacles though. Might be the T5s working their magic though

I do have the R420R on my 40g breeder but this is in my 5g EcoXotic EcoPico with cheap stock LED lighting.
All reds stay red in my 40g. Actually, everything in the 40g stays it's original color, or a more vibrant form of it's original color.
Even in the pico all reds stay red except my acans under these leds always change colors. Not just reds. Any color acan changes to a different color.

How's it doing in the new spot?
My frag is completely neon orange and neon green. Looks like its trying to survive. This is my first acan ever, any tips would be GREAT

Looks like orange crush acan. I like it. No idea why yours turned orange though.
My acans tentacles haven't come out for a few days now. Does it mean it's not hungry because I fed it too much mysis?
I noticed a little brown spot on the skeleton. I'm hoping it's a new baby.
looks cool mine still bright red i notice alot of peps have there on bottom of tank i have mine at top maybe 2 3 inches from water surface my other acans like it and seems like this one does too =)

Hey Peter, I'm almost 100% positive the color change is from the LEDs. My fixtures are not full spectrum, so I think it's missing something. Although I could be completely wrong.
Thanks Dilligaf, I will try moving it up. Maybe halfway at first.
