what is your clown hosting ?........

I have a black occelaris and maroon that are hosted by green hairy shrooms. They are the only reason I leave the shrooms.

A few years ago when i started my breeding project,.. I had many clowns in the same tank. Its funny watching clownfish learn from each other when it comes to a host. When one fish picks a host first,.. they all want in! Okay so this was really weird... every night a bunch of clowns, a hippo tang and a female lyretail anthia would sleep cuddled up on this poor toad stool. I must admit,... its really funny watching a hippo play dead on top of a coral while watching the clowns establish their space.

As time when on and order started to establish itself,.. the smaller clownfish got the boot from the toadstool. So did the hippo and anthia. Once this happened,.. its a race to find a new host and anything is game! this is when i started to see these guys get pretty creative. The fan worm,.. was NOT having it. It seriously took a week for the fan worm to just say, "if ya can't beat em, join em" and started letting this guy sleep ontop of him. Sad to say,.. eventually the worm did call it quits and tried moving to a new home.. this worm which was about 6" long found him self inside my fungia coral as a nice tasty snack (poor one for the homi).

Life inevitably throws us curve balls, unexpected circumstances that remind us to expect the unexpected. I've come to understand these curve balls are the beautiful unfolding of both serendipity and realizing sometimes you need to just say F* it,.. and go with the flow.
